My Top 10 of 2015 (Part 1)
My Top 10 of 2015 (Part 1)
It’s a new year and I have been thinking about my top 10 items.* Instead of making a New Year’s Resolution, what will you take with you into 2016 for better results?* These 2015 events served us to do better, taught us or reminded us of what’s important.
*
What I learned this year:
1 ” Change my routine to stay fresh.* Allow change in my life to be an adventure instead of an interruption.* Change the route to work.* When talking with friends and family about politics, government or serious types of discussions; take the opposite side of the debate to determine if you are being objective.* In 2015, it’s the first time I ever took time out for a sit-down lunch at 3 p.m. before my next event.* Isn’t it funny that we don’t do what we tell others is necessary!* Being a control freak, I will continue to work on this.* What about you?
2 – Seek out others to help you in areas that is not your natural strength. * LAC hired a Virtual Executive Administrator.* This move allows me to spend less time on operational details and more time on client needs, preparations and potential clients.* Brenda’s strength is working on details and support work which is not my forte.* This allows me to work with clients and creative custom work which are my strengths.
3 ” Be thankful for all things.* This was a year of family illness and business challenges.* I’m learning (notice this is not “already learned”) that situations and events come into my life to teach me things.* I can resist change (aka as learning).* Know this.* Unless change (learning) is painful, we go back to our old habits later.* Let’s be thankful for these situations and events as life improvements.
4 ” Marry a person who can fix things (Bob MacGyver). * My husband, Bob,* * is the best LAC employee who doesn’t get paid.* He is always willing and able to fix whatever needs fixing.* He is willing to put gas in my car when I’ve come in late at night and need to be out early the next day.* I’m one lucky girl!
5 ” Do not allow others to take video of you dancing; it hurts your pride and damages your creative dancing skills.* I was cutting a rug thinking I was in the groove!* Well, once I saw this video:it made me think of a Seinfeld video where Elaine was dancing.* If you haven’t seen it, take 47 seconds and watch this hysterical groove.* https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xi4O1yi6b0
The remaining five more lessons learned coming soon!* Stay tuned!
